A New Farmhand Has Arrived 🍼🤠

We are overjoyed to introduce the newest member of our farm family, 𝐙𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬. 💙

If you’ve been to the graveyard on our farm, you may recognize the name Zenith— he and his family started this farm back in the 1800’s. This farm means the world to us, so when we decided we wanted a “Z” name, I knew just where to look. The name also has a deeper meaning— Zenith has come to symbolize the peak of achievement or success in various contexts, a perfect representation of how we felt bringing new life into this world.

As we settle into this sweet new season of life, horseback riding lessons, horse experiences, and appointments will be paused while I spend time with our growing family. I anticipate being back in the saddle in approximately 8 weeks and will announce availability on our website and social media as soon as appointments reopen.

In the meantime, our cabin remains open and ready to welcome guests looking for a peaceful summer escape. Whether you’re seeking quiet mornings by the creek, time to wander the trails, evenings under the stars, or simply a place to slow down and reconnect, we’d love to host you.

And who knows—you just might catch a glimpse of our newest little farmhand during your stay. 🤍

Sandy brought her grand daughters out for a ride while she was in town celebrating Elise’s (on Maverick) birthday! This was their first time on full sized horses and they rode wonderfully!

The two ladies the started it all for me! Finally got to live the dream of trail riding with them on my own farm! The day could not have been more perfect! 💜 Also Marlyssa got to canter in her horse Veto for the first time ever! 🥳 Follow your dreams people, they will take you to incredible places!

This spring feels a little different for me.

The farm is coming back to life—trees blooming, bees buzzing, longer days stretching into the evening—and normally I’d feel the pull to do all the things this time of year.

But this season, my pace is slower. My energy is different. And I’m learning to listen to that instead of pushing past it.

I’m stepping into this spring in my first pregnancy, and it’s gently shifting the way I experience everything. The urgency has softened. The pressure to keep up has quieted. And in its place is a reminder I think we all need:

Not everything blooms at once.

You don’t have to do everything this season.
You don’t have to match who you were last year.
You’re allowed to grow at your own pace.

Whether this spring feels like a fresh start or you’re just barely coming out of a hard winter—there’s space for you here, exactly as you are.

After weeks of patience, setbacks, and trying to truly listen to him… Cenarius chose to come in. His first real moment of trust. No pressure, no force—just a quiet “yes.”

…while my cat was actively trying to sabotage the entire training session 😅🐈

Three weeks into training my wild mustang Cenarius, and I’m learning an important lesson: progress with mustangs is rarely a straight line.

After a busy couple of weeks on the farm, I wasn’t as consistent with our sessions as I should have been — and Cenarius reminded me how important consistency really is. We went from touching faces and being best friends… back to a little bit of “stranger danger.”

In this session I’m working on rebuilding that trust using shorter, more focused sessions and introducing nose touches with a training stick, which has been helping him feel more confident approaching again.

You’ll see:
• how I’m adjusting my training approach
• why timing the release of pressure matters
• small but meaningful signs of progress
• Cenarius thinking about approaching my hand

I also share what’s been happening around the farm — including preparing for our mounted orienteering event, which has been keeping us very busy lately.

Training a mustang is as much about learning patience and timing as it is about the horse. Every small step forward matters.

Our first training session with Cenarius is officially 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐓𝐮𝐛𝐞.

Cenarius is a BLM mustang from Antelope, Nevada, and this video documents the very first groundwork session as we begin building trust and communication.

In this session:
• Establishing personal space
• Introducing foundational cues
• Observing his natural responses
• Beginning the trust-building process

What a super fun day with some incredible equestrians! One of our “frequent flyer” trail customer joined in on our 2 hour haul-in ride— she did a fantastic job on the challenging terrain! David and Joy brought their new TWH colt out for trail exposure and Amber and Rowan joined with their mustang for the same! The “newbie” trail horses did great!

If you need someone to pressure your husband into getting on a horse, I’m your girl 🙋‍♀️

Well friends, I couldn’t think of a better way to ring in the year of the fire horse than with our first mustang! Everyone meet Cenarius! ❤️‍🔥 He’s settling in great, I got lots of nose rubs in today!

Sierra brought Mary out for Galentine’s Day 💕 Took them for a 2 hour ridge top ride, snapped some beautiful photos to edit later, and Zack took them into the cave! These lovely ladies are in the prevet Army program at Auburn— thank you for your service!
